Southern Plains Productions is seeking actors and singers for our 2026/27 season and future projects.

​

*A NOTE FROM THE ARTISTIC DIRECTOR*

This season has some unique logistical challenges, which means there are fewer opportunities for local performers than we’d ideally like. That said, we encourage you to audition even if you don’t immediately see a role for yourself this season.

​

This audition is also an opportunity for our New York-based Casting Director, Cassandra Leigh Maguire, CSA, to become familiar with the incredible local talent in Oklahoma City. We’ll use this process to help inform future programming and casting.

​

Think of this as both a season audition and a general audition for Southern Plains Productions. ​

NEW YORK AUDITIONS

New York auditions will be held at a later date.

​

Please do not travel to Oklahoma City for these auditions. A separate breakdown for New York-based actors will be released in Spring 2027.

CONTRACT

Equity: Special Appearance Tier III Agreement
Weekly Minimum: $700

Non-Equity: $700 weekly minimum

PREPARATION

Please prepare a two-minute audition that showcases the best version of yourself as a performer.

Suggested material may include:

• Two contrasting 32-bar cuts

• One minute monologue and one song

• A monologue, song, or combination of material that best demonstrates your abilities

Please select material that gives us a strong sense of who you are as an artist and performer.

CHARACTERS

POPS (he/him)
Ole Blue Eyes and Hoboken's favorite son. Charismatic and dashing. A great showman with the power to manipulate everyone around him, but with the slight fear that that power is evaporating by the minute.

​

SON (he/him) — 21
Brash and asinine. The talent is there, but is too mawkish and uncomfortable in his own skin to really let it shine. Not quite self-hating—but knows exactly how to dish it out like a Mart Crowley character.

​

NICKY (he/him) — Early-Mid 20s
Burly and beautiful. A blonde, Midwestern import. Deeply talented and charming, with a drive to match. Perhaps smarter than everyone around him thinks.

​

MIA (she/her)— Early-Mid 20s
A burgeoning bombshell. A New Jersey runaway turned starlet, she knows exactly what she wants…until she doesn't.​

​

All roles will be understudied​.

​

Actors cast in HIT SHOW must be available for both engagements in OKC & NKY.
