“Sheer magic! Smart, infectious humor.”
OVERVIEW
Silent Sky spotlights the life of early astronomer Henrietta Leavitt, who worked in Harvard University’s Observatory as a human “computer,” helping map the stars but receiving no credit. Despite the restrictive gender norms of her time and her struggles with hearing loss, Leavitt discovered a means of measuring distance on an intergalactic scale, which forever changed our perspective of the universe.
Southern Plains Productions, in partnership with Science Museum of Oklahoma, is proud to present the Oklahoma City premier of Silent Sky.
It’s a show the Atlanta Journal-Constitution calls “Heavenly.”
