SILENT SKY
BY: LAUREN GUNDERSON
AUGUST 10 - 13, 2023
ABOUT THE SHOW
Silent Sky spotlights the life of early astronomer Henrietta Leavitt, who worked in Harvard University’s Observatory as a human “computer,” helping map the stars but receiving no credit. Despite the restrictive gender norms of her time and her struggles with hearing loss, Leavitt discovered a means of measuring distance on an inter-galactic scale, which forever changed our perspective of the universe.
Southern Plains Productions, in partnership with Science Museum Oklahoma, is proud to present the Oklahoma City premier of Silent Sky, Aug. 10-13 in the Science Museum Planetarium.
It’s a show the Atlanta Journal-Constitution calls “Heavenly.”
Join us at the Oklahoma Science Museum August 10-13, for three celestial presentations of Silent Sky. You’ve never seen the planetarium like this!
